Edumapper raises €5 million to help students make better academic choices

Choosing a field of study is a major challenge for many young students, who face an overwhelming number of options and scattered information, often leading to poorly informed decisions influenced by biases or a lack of visibility on career prospects. In France, more than one-third of first-year university students drop out or change their academic path—an alarming figure that highlights the issue.

While public platforms like Parcoursup centralize applications, they do not provide detailed analysis of admission probabilities or realistic projections for professional integration. Other private services exist but are often paid, limited to specific programs, or lack transparency in their methodology. Academic guidance remains an unstructured field where data could play a key role.

Edumapper: A digital compass for students

Edumapper aims to become the leading academic guidance platform in France and internationally. The free, open-to-all platform aggregates and structures data from educational institutions, alumni career paths, and labor market trends. Its algorithm assesses admission chances based on a student’s profile and maps out the real career opportunities for each program. The goal: to transform a mass of scattered information into personalized, data-driven recommendations.

The platform covers the entire post-high school journey up to a master’s degree and includes international programs. It leverages artificial intelligence and predictive analytics to offer students fact-based guidance rather than intuition-driven choices.

A €5 million initial funding round

Founded by a team known for launching MeilleursAgents—Sébastien de Lafond, Julien Cheyssial, and Jordan Sanial—Edumapper has just raised €5 million to bring its vision to life. The round was led by daphni, Eurazeo (via HEC Ventures), Ring Capital, and Kima Ventures.
