Cybersecurity has become a strategic priority for companies and public institutions. As cyberattacks grow in frequency and complexity, the sector is undergoing a profound transformation. In this landscape, Paris-based Filigran is emerging as an innovative player by placing collaboration and open-source at the core of its approach. Through OpenCTI, its open-source threat intelligence platform, Filigran provides companies and public sector organizations with a solution to centralize and enrich threat data while mobilizing a global community of cybersecurity professionals. This collaborative approach transforms threat management into a collective effort, where shared resources and knowledge become assets against sophisticated attacks.
Inspired by collaborative models like GitHub and Hugging Face, Filigran goes beyond offering just a technological solution; it unites a thriving community around its platform. OpenCTI has already attracted over 4,300 contributors worldwide and is used by renowned institutions such as the European Commission, the FBI, and the New York City Cyber Command. By harnessing contributions from these experts, Filigran continuously enhances its platform with new features and collective intelligence, creating a dynamic and ever-evolving ecosystem for its users.
To deepen this collaborative vision, Filigran will soon launch XTM Hub, a platform designed for cybersecurity professionals to encourage the sharing of knowledge, resources, and tradecraft in cybersecurity. By enabling the exchange of best practices and access to community-driven resources, XTM Hub positions Filigran as a catalyst for collective innovation in cybersecurity. Through this initiative, the startup aims to become the open-source hub of cybersecurity—a space where experts and novices alike can come together to strengthen their resilience to threats.
This open-source model has allowed Filigran to attract top-tier companies such as Airbus, Marriott, Thales, and Bouygues Telecom for its enterprise version of OpenCTI, available as SaaS or on-premises. Filigran is also developing a second product, OpenBAS, an attack simulation platform, enabling companies to identify and quantify potential vulnerabilities. Used alongside OpenCTI, this product provides a complete overview of cybersecurity risks.
To support its ambition, Filigran recently raised $35 million in Series B funding, a round led by Insight Partners with participation from Accel and Moonfire. This funding will enable the startup to strengthen its threat management suite, expand operations in Germany, Japan, and Singapore, and continue developing XTM Hub. With this new phase of funding, Filigran aims to establish itself as the European leader in collaborative cybersecurity, leveraging the strength of its community and its “collective security” model.
