Alice & Bob raises €100 million to build their universal quantum computer

Theau Perronin, CEO d'Alice & Bob

Alice & Bob, a French startup specializing in quantum computing, which FRENCHWEB has been following since its inception, has announced raising €100 million in a Series B funding round. This round is led by Future French Champions (FFC), AVP, and Bpifrance, with participation from the Île-de-France Reindustrialization Fund, operated by INNOVACOM – Turenne Groupe.

Founded in 2020, Alice & Bob stands out with its development of “cat qubits,” a groundbreaking technology capable of reducing the complexity and costs of quantum systems by ensuring error tolerance. With operations in Paris and Boston, the company aims to build the first universal quantum computer, solidifying France’s position in this strategic sector.

This funding will enable Alice & Bob to accelerate the performance enhancement of its systems, complete the construction of a cutting-edge laboratory and production facility, and expand its team. “Alice & Bob is a leading company in quantum computing, supported by the Île-de-France Region since its early days. We are convinced that the region is a place where future champions of quantum technology will emerge,” said Alexandra Dublanche, Vice President of the Île-de-France Region.
