Since its inception two years ago, the French startup Billy has positioned itself as a next-generation ticketing solution dedicated to event creators. With a Direct-to-Fans approach, Billy aims to transform ticketing into a strategic engagement channel, enabling organizers to connect directly with their audiences and strengthen loyalty.
Billy’s platform, designed as a white-label solution, offers a flexible ticketing engine adapted to various use cases, including music events, trade shows, and festivals. This flexibility includes the ability to manage ticket transfers, refunds, quotas, upgrades, and even ticket resale. By providing an integrated tool, Billy enables creators to simplify their event management while maintaining a consistent brand image.
Through its Event Shop offering, Billy also introduces a solution to diversify organizers’ revenue streams, merging ticketing and e-commerce. Creators can sell, in a single journey, tickets bundled with merchandise or exclusive experiences. This tool includes options such as “ticket + merch” or “ticket + album” bundles, meeting audiences’ growing demand for more complete experiences. These bundles are certified by the French National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing (SNEP), ensuring album sales count towards official charts, which satisfies label and artist requirements.
The startup provides an open API and a catalog of integrations, allowing event creators to benefit from modern market tools. This approach facilitates finer analysis of event data, offering organizers an overview of their audience’s behavior and preferences. Billy’s connected ecosystem makes it an integrated solution that adapts to the evolving needs of creators, in France and internationally.
In addition to its technological offering, Billy is supported by institutions such as the Ministry of Culture, BPI, and the National Music Center (CNM). The startup already collaborates with renowned partners like Universal Music, Sony, and Warner, as well as various festivals and trade shows.
As part of its growth, Billy announces a €4 million funding round from Izun, Accel, and Stake Capital, along with 30 industry-based business angels. This funding will allow Billy to strengthen its Direct-to-Fans features and expand its tool catalog, while welcoming Olivier Bonnet, CTO of Blablacar, to its board.
