ALBATROSS raises €3 million to personalize user interactions in e-commerce and media

Albatross, a Swiss company specializing in artificial intelligence (AI) personalization, stands out for its ability to offer real-time personalization in e-commerce, media, and marketplaces. Founded by former AI experts from Amazon, the company leverages advanced technologies such as reinforcement learning and multi-armed bandits to optimize every user interaction.

Albatross’ platform enables businesses to create user journeys that evolve in real-time based on observed preferences and behaviors. Unlike traditional recommendation systems, often limited to popular items, Albatross provides up-to-date recommendations that proactively engage users, maximizing conversions and reducing catalog fatigue.

This unique positioning allows Albatross to meet the growing demand from companies looking to offer more dynamic and personalized user experiences. Through AI-based automation, the platform replaces manual A/B testing, reducing potential revenue losses and increasing engagement.

The Swiss startup recently raised €3 million in a seed funding round led by Redalpine, with participation from Daphni. This investment will help further develop the platform and strengthen its presence in the e-commerce and media markets, where personalization plays a key role in business performance.

A multi-armed bandit is a class of reinforcement learning algorithms used in decision-making models. The learner (or algorithm) must choose from several actions, each offering a different reward, with the goal of maximizing cumulative gains over time. These algorithms allow Albatross to continuously optimize recommendations based on users’ changing preferences.
