Alpagga Raises €6 Million to Extend the Lifecycle of Equipment for Cafés, Hotels, and Restaurants

Founded in 2022 by Geoffrey Taieb and Bordan Petrynka, Alpagga offers a marketplace dedicated to buying and selling used equipment for cafés, hotels, and restaurants. This platform allows restaurateurs, hoteliers, and other professionals to renew their equipment at a reduced cost, while actively participating in an ecological initiative. On average, the equipment available on Alpagga is sold at 50% less than new models, providing an economical solution for industries where margins can be tight.

Alpagga also addresses a major issue: managing end-of-life equipment. Instead of seeing functional equipment end up in landfills, the platform facilitates its reuse and extends its lifespan. By promoting second-hand purchases, Alpagga helps reduce waste and decrease demand for new production, thus contributing to a lower environmental footprint for the sector.

An Integrated Service Offering to Simplify the Transition to Second-Hand

One of Alpagga’s differentiating elements lies in its integrated service offering. The startup goes beyond merely connecting buyers and sellers; it provides comprehensive support to simplify the transaction process. For sellers, Alpagga manages logistics by handling on-site dismantling and removal of equipment, while ensuring a transparent and balanced market placement.

For buyers, Alpagga ensures rigorous quality control by verifying each listing before it goes online, guaranteeing the compliance of the equipment offered. Additionally, the platform includes after-sales service (SAV), solid warranties, and quick installation, allowing professionals to equip themselves with peace of mind.

A Strong Commitment to Supporting the Local Economy

Alpagga favors a short-circuit approach by collaborating with local small businesses for delivery, installation, and equipment maintenance. This strategy strengthens the local economy while enabling Alpagga to ensure optimal responsiveness: interventions are carried out within 48 hours, a crucial speed requirement for hospitality professionals.

This local anchoring is part of the startup’s mission to create a more sustainable and interconnected ecosystem. By betting on the circular economy, Alpagga not only contributes to reducing the sector’s carbon footprint but also strengthens the local economic fabric, creating beneficial synergies between sector actors and regional service providers.

Rapid Growth for a Lasting Impact

In just one year, Alpagga has achieved notable growth, multiplying its monthly revenue tenfold and expanding its team to 30 employees. Thanks to a recent €6 million funding round from Ring Capital, FJ Labs, Acurio, and 50 Partners, the startup aims to strengthen its leadership position in the French market and promote the adoption of second-hand equipment in the hospitality sector. This funding is expected to enable Alpagga to expand its platform and amplify its environmental impact across France.
